SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
Student Ambassadors are high school students who are sincerely interested in government. Each high school selects one male and one female student to serve as Ambassadors to the City of Pembroke Pines for school year 2018.

At the May 27, 2014 Education Advisory Board Meeting, Pembroke Pines Education Advisory Board Chairman Babcock presented a proposal for the Student Ambassador Program guidelines and members discussed the proposal at length.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS TO THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES

The Education Advisory Board will announce a competition for high school juniors to vie for one of twelve positions as Student Ambassadors from their high schools to the City of Pembroke Pines.

Criteria for the Competition: This contest is open to all high school juniors from the City of Pembroke Pines who attends a designated area high school. Entrants must be solid citizens who attend school regularly and strive to learn more about government. Each school may set their selection criteria and select one male student and one female student to serve as Ambassadors from their school to the City. When selected, students must submit permission statements from their parents. Parents will state that named student has their permission to serve as a Student Ambassador and that the parents will be responsible for transporting the student to City Hall and for picking up the student at the conclusion of this event.
