Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1.  On November 1, 2017, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of PSUT-17-09 "Booster Stations Disinfection System Improvements", which was advertised on November 7, 2017.

2.  The purpose of this solicitation was to seek proposals from qualified firms to provide improvements to Booster Stations Disinfection Systems at Academic Village and Holly Lakes.

3.  On December 12, 2017, the City opened two (2) proposals from the following vendors:

4.  The Utilities Division has reviewed the proposals and has deemed Florida Design Drilling Corp. to be the most responsive/responsible proposer.

5.  In addition, Florida Design Drilling Corp. has also completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the "Contractor currently complies with the requirements of this section."

6.  The Utilities Division would like to add a 10% owner’s contingency to the project to cover any additional services needed along with a $50,000 permit allowance which will increase the total cost from $1,380,000 to $1,568,000. 

7.  Request Commission to award PSUT-17-09 "Booster Stations Disinfection System Improvements “to the most responsive/responsible bidder, Florida Design Drilling Corp. in the amount of $1,568,000 which includes a 10% owner’s contingency of $138,000 and a permit allowance in the amount of $50,000.
