SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On August 7, 2024, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of IFB # RE-24-09 “Shade Structures at Maxwell Park and Josias Dog Park”, which was advertised on August 14, 2024.
2. The purpose of the solicitation was to provide and install shade structures at Maxwell Park and Josias Dog Park, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in the solicitation.

6. Upon review of Shade America Inc.’s alternate submittal, the Architect of Record deemed the submittal as an equal and approved the use of the alternate shade structure, provided the Alnet Extra Block shade fabric is used.
Per Shade America Inc.’s submittal, in document “Shade Warranty & Shade Structure Material Specifications”, Shade America Inc confirmed their proposal uses Alnet Extra Block shade fabric.
7. As a result, the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department reviewed the proposals and deemed Shade America, Inc. to be the lowest, most responsive/responsible bidder.
8. Shade America Inc. has completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the "Contractor currently complies with the requirements of this section."
9. Request Commission to award IFB #RE-24-09 Shade Structure at Maxwell Park and Josias Dog Park to the most responsive/responsible bidder, Shade America, Inc., in the amount not to exceed $49,137.00, which includes a 10% owner’s contingency in the amount of $4,467.00.
