SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On September 3, 2025, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of IFB # TS-25-16 “NetApp CVO”, which was advertised on September 9, 2025.
2. The purpose of the solicitation was to seek bids from qualified contractors to provide the requested NetApp CVO (Cloud Volumes ONTAP) licensing for the City of Pembroke Pines.
NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP is a software-only storage appliance that runs ONTAP data management software in the cloud. It provides enterprise-grade storage with features such as storage efficiencies, data protection, data tiering, application consistency, and data security. Deploy self-managed cloud storage, powered by NetApp ONTAP software, for applications, databases, containers, and user files with NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and S3 client protocol compatibility.
The City will use NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP to replicate on-premises NetApp storage into the cloud. This provides a secure and reliable backup, expands our storage capacity, and ensures continuity of operations. The system uses the same proven platform we already rely on, offering enterprise-grade protection, efficiency, and compatibility with our existing applications.
The requested license is for a three (3) year term of the CVO Essentials Secondary plan - Single Node.
