MOTION TO ADOPT PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2026-R-01.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2026-R-01 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA. AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SIGNING AND SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND ASSURANCES TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENTS OF TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT"), AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE FDOT, AND THE PURCHASE OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT, AND EXPENDITURES OF GRANT FUNDS; DIRECTING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The City of Pembroke Pines/Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Senior Center desire to apply for the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") Grant in the approximate amount of $403,036 that represents the purchase of two (2) buses, each with sixteen (16) standard seats and two (2) wheelchair positions equipped with cameras, radios and GPS equipment for an estimate total cost of $403,036.
2. If the 5310 Grant is awarded, the City would match 10% of the total purchase, not exceeding $40,303.60.
3. Requesting Commission approval for the submission of the FY2027 application.
