Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

 

1. The City of Pembroke Pines/Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Senior Center desire to apply for the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") Grant in the approximate amount of $403,036 that represents the purchase of two (2) buses, each with sixteen (16) standard seats and two (2) wheelchair positions equipped with cameras, radios and GPS equipment for an estimate total cost of $403,036.

 

2. If the 5310 Grant is awarded, the City would match 10% of the total purchase, not exceeding $40,303.60.

 

3. Requesting Commission approval for the submission of the FY2027 application.

FINANCIAL IMPACT DETAIL:

 

a)   Initial Cost: $40,303.60 transfer to Community Bus Program for the match 001-519-0800-591128-0000-000-0000-

b)   Amount budgeted for this item in Account No: If and when grant is awarded, it would be recorded as a budget amendment and increase the budgets in Funds 001 and 128 in various accounts to properly record the grant. 128-544-8001-664003-0000-000-YR50-05310 Vehicle and 128-544-8001-552650-0000-000-YR50-05310 Non-Capital Equipment.

FEASIBILITY REVIEW:

A feasibility review is required for the award, renewal and/or expiration of all function sourcing contracts.  This analysis is to determine the financial effectiveness of function sourcing services.
