Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
(A) PSUT-25-07 "Wastewater Treatment Plant Unit 1 Rehabilitation"
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials, for the renovation and painting of the existing Wastewater Treatment Unit 1, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation.
This work shall include, but not be limited to, cleaning and removing grit; removing and replacing the existing fine bubble diffuser system; removing and replacing the clarifier drive; removing and replacing the existing Return Activated Sludge (RAS) box and RAS valve; installing a new spray wash system for the effluent trough; renovating, preparing, and painting the entire unit; adding process air piping to create a closed-loop air header system; and performing electrical and instrumentation control modifications, all as shown and specified in the Contract Documents.
(B) PSUT-25-08 "Water Treatment Plant Unit B Rehabilitation"
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials, for the renovation and painting of the existing Water Treatment Plant Unit B, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation.
This work shall include, but not be limited to, cleaning, removal and replacement of tank internals, electrical systems, new hatches, new stairs, surface preparation and painting as show in the Contract Documents.
(C) CS-25-03 "Propane Wet Fueling for Community Services Shuttle Buses"
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to provide wet fueling services for the City's community shuttle buses, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation.
In November 2024, Broward County began transitioning the City's White Community Shuttle Buses to propane. The City is currently purchasing small quantities of propane on an as needed basis to fuel the buses that have been converted but is looking for a long-term solution to address the City's need. Additionally, the City is considering the installation of propane fueling infrastructure to fuel the buses on site in the future.
(D) PSPW-25-09 "Citywide Litter Control and Landscape Maintenance Services"
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to perform landscape, maintenance and litter control services on various City-owned properties and public Rights of Way (ROW), in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation.
The purpose of these services is to maintain a clean, safe, and visually appealing environment throughout the City by providing both landscape maintenance and litter control services. These services are essential for preserving the aesthetic value of City-owned properties and public Rights-of Ways (ROW), enhancing public spaces for residents and visitors, and promoting community pride.
(E) PSPW-25-10 "Academic Village Cooling Tower"
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials, for the demolition and installation of a new cooling tower at the Pembroke Pines Charter School Academic Village Campus, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation.
Cooling towers play a critical role in the HVAC system by removing heat from the building and maintaining efficient system operation. Their proper function is essential to ensure continuous cooling across the campus and prevent disruptions to the HVAC infrastructure.
The Pembroke Pines Academic Village campus cooling towers have reached the end of their useful life due to corrosion and aging components, impacting performance and reliability. Replacing them with modern stainless-steel units will enhance efficiency, ensure safety, and provide dependable service for decades with proper maintenance.
