PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2025-R-21 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES CHARTER SCHOOLS SPONSORED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR THE CHARTER SCHOOL FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2025 IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,589,907; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

 

Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

 

1. Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-21 is a resolution adopting the budget for the School Board of Broward County (SBBC) Sponsored City of Pembroke Pines Charter Elementary, Middle, and Academic Village Schools (AVCS) for the fiscal year July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026 (See Exhibit 1. 2025-R-21 PPCS Budget Resolution).

 

2. On June 9th and 10th, 2025, the Academic Village Advisory Board and the Elementary and Middle School Advisory Board unanimously approved with no recommendations the FY 2025-2026 proposed balanced budget as presented to them by City Administration. (See Exhibit 2. Charter AVCS June 09, 2025 Meeting Summary and Exhibit 3. Charter Elementary Middle June 10, 2025 Meeting Summary).

 

3. The Charter Elementary School's total budget is $28,057,424.

 

4. The Charter Middle School's total budget is $18,030,499.

 

5. The Academic Village Charter School's (Middle and High School) total budget is $29,501,984.

 

6. The cost of lease payments, maintenance, transportation, food service, personnel, capital and operating expenses are all covered by total revenues from federal/state grants, state shared revenues, and other sources.

 

7. All State and local shared revenue projections are based on the House Education Bill, HB 5001 dated April 3, 2025, proposed during the 2025 House and Senate regular legislative session.

 

8. Recommend Commission adopt Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-21 approving the budget for the City of Pembroke Pines Charter Schools sponsored by the School Board of Broward County, in the amount of $75,589,907 for school fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025.
