SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The original petition was submitted on February 21, 2024. City Administration informed petitioner that the roadway was not eligible for speed humps since the placement would violate the Speed Hump resolution and Commission action would be needed to move forward.
2. City Administration was directed to place the item on the agenda as a Commissioner item on the April 3rd, 2024 agenda where it was voted upon to install the speed humps.
3. The removeable speed cushions were ordered along with the required signage. All equipment including signage was received the week of July 28th, 2024 and equipment installation was completed the week of August 12th, 2024.
4. A request to remove the speed humps was received on August 27th, 2024.
Financial Impact
FINANCIAL IMPACT DETAIL:
a) Initial Cost: The Engineering Division estimates the cost to remove the newly installed speed cushions to be approximately $5,000 plus any patching necessary if the asphalt is damaged during removal of the screws holding down the equipment.
