SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Public Service Department is requesting to purchase a Caterpillar TL1255D Telehandler from Kelly Tractor Co. utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association’s (FSA) Bid # FSA20-EQU18.0.
2. The Caterpillar TL1255D Telehandler is a new piece of equipment which will be utilized for various projects to move and lift heavy and/or bulky materials, and will be especially useful at our tall buildings, the water and wastewater plants, lift stations, and landscape projects. Additionally, this versatile piece of equipment would be very valuable to have during hurricane debris cleanup efforts.
3. Kelly Tractor Co. has provided a quote for the Caterpillar TL1255D Telehandler at a total cost of $183,028, which includes a $3,788 discount off of the non-scheduled options.
4. The Public Service Department requested the following non-scheduled option: (477-0002) cab, enclosed,( 474-7332) environmental control, (470-0859) belt, seat, 3", (474-9146) lights, roading lights, RH, (566-6803) work lights, led a/c compatible, (549-8956) carriage, side tilt, 72", (301-9753) fork, pallet 2.36" X 5" X 48", and (321-0556) lifting hook, fork mounted. A quote was provided and the cost is included in the total cost for the Caterpillar TL1255D Telehandler. The total amount for the non-scheduled item is $19,890 of the $183,028 for the one (1) Caterpillar TL1255D Telescopic Tool Carrier.
5. Request City Commission to approve the purchase of a Caterpillar TL1255D Telehandler from Kelly Tractor Co. For a total cost not to exceed $183,028 utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association’s (FSA) contract number: FSA20-EQU18.0 spec. #400 pursuant to section 35.18(C)(5) of the city's code of ordinances.
