Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1.                     The existing 2021-22 School Resource Officer Agreement between the City of Pembroke Pines and the Broward County School Board, to reimburse the cost of (16) School Resource Officers at (14) Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, will expire on June 9, 2022.

 

2.                     This is an agreement for the City of Pembroke Pines to maintain three (3) School Resource Officers at three (3) participating summer schools operated by the Broward County School Board through the six-week period of June 20, 2022 through July 28, 2022.

 

3.                     The City’s per SRO funding cost through the six week period will be $9,180, for a total cost $27,540 for the three (3) SROs.

 

4.                     Per section 2.07 of this agreement, the School Board of Broward County is funding three (3) SROs at a weekly cost of $1,530 per SRO ($9,180 through the six week period) for a total cost of $27,540.

 

5.                     The total cost for the City ($27,540) and total funding provided by the School Board of Broward County ($27,540) results in a net city cost of $0.00.

 

6.                     The agreement has been reviewed and approved as to legal form by the Police Legal Advisor.
