TO PROVIDE SENIOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2026, THROUGH JUNE30, 2027 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $216,155.00.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On April 21, 2026, the 2026-2027 application was submitted for continued transportation services to our senior clientele 60 years of age and older. Among the services offered are door to door to and from nutrition programs, grocery shopping, medical appointments, and other destinations to meet the individual need. These services preserve elder independence, support caregivers, and target at-risk persons.
2. Agreement JL025-10-2026 will expire on June 30, 2026, and has provided 16,011 units of service to our senior population for the period of July 1, 2025, through April 24, 2026.
3. On April 28, 2026, the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc. presented agreement JL026-10-2027 which would provide $216,155.00 through LSP funds to cover transportation services for the senior clientele.
4. Requesting Commission approval of the submission of the 2026-2027 application and the approval of the JL026-10-2027 agreement for continued transportation services for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
