Title
MOTION TO ADOPT PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2025-R-27.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2025-R-27 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, APPROVING A DRAINAGE EASEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTH BROWARD DRAINAGE DISTRICT (SBDD) FOR THE PEMBROKE ROAD EXPANSION PROJECT (MIRA 001-004); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT.

Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Pembroke Road Expansion Project (MIRA 001-004) is being managed by the City of Miramar and is funded through the Broward County Surtax. As part of this project, drainage facilities will be constructed to provide drainage from Pembroke Road Right-of-way to an adjacent lake owned by the South Broward Drainage District (SBDD).

2. In order to construct the required drainage infrastructure within SBDD property, the City of Pembroke Pines must obtain a drainage easement from SBDD.

3. Although the City of Miramar is responsible for Construction, a portion of the drainage system will be located within the City of Pembroke Pines’ Right-of-way.

4. The City of Pembroke Pines is therefore responsible for the maintenance of the drainage facilities located within its jurisdiction after construction is completed. This resolution No. 2025-R-27 authorizes the City Manager to execute the drainage easement agreement with SBDD.

5. The agreement is attached hereto as EXHIBIT "A".

6. Request City Commission adopt Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-27.
