Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On August 6, 2025, City Commission approved contract # JP025-10-2026. The EHEAP contract will provide crisis assistance to seniors 60 years of age and older. Eligible elders may receive multiple crisis assistance not exceeding a total of $2,000 per period July 1, 2025 through June 15, 2026.

2. On May 18, 2026 the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc. submitted Amendment 001 to change the effective dates of contract JP025-10-2026. Original effective dates were July 1, 2025 through June 15, 2026, and upon execution of this amendment, the effective dates will be July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. All other items of the contract will remain the same.

3. Request Commission approval of amendment 001 for the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP) Agreement JP025-10-2026.
