SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Pembroke Pines-Florida State University Charter Elementary School participates in the professional development plan for teachers through the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC.) This professional development plan allows teachers to participate in trainings, record in-service points for re-certification, and fulfill requirements for added endorsements.
2. The PAEC provides its participating districts the PAEC Professional Learning Catalog, which contains the approved professional learning components in which teachers can continually build on their expertise to meet the needs of their students, resulting in increased student achievement. The PAEC Professional Learning Catalog was updated for the 2025-2026 school year to include updated components (See Exhibit 1. Updated PAEC Professional Learning Catalog 2025-26).
3. The Charter/FSU Advisory Board approved the updated 2025-2026 PAEC Professional Learning Catalog on October 16, 2025, and as part of FSU Elementary’ s yearly audit, evidence must be provided of the Governing Board's (i.e., City Commission) approval of the FSU Elementary School PAEC Professional Learning Catalog (Exhibit 2. Professional Learning Catalog 2025-26 District Approval Form).
4. Recommend City Commission approve the 2025-2026 updated PAEC Professional Learning Catalog for the Pembroke Pines-Florida State University Charter Elementary School.
