PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO 2026-R-05 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 10, 2026; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1. The General Election for the offices of District 1 Commissioner and District 4 Commissioner was held on March 10, 2026 in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida and the City of Pembroke Pines.

2. The Supervisor of Elections Canvassing Board is scheduled to meet on March 13, 2026, to certify the official election results.

3. In accordance with Chapter 3.07 (a) of the City Charter, an organizational meeting shall be held at the first regular Commission meeting following the certification of the election results pursuant to the Florida Election Code, as may be amended from time to time.

4. Further, at the organizational meeting, all newly elected officials shall take an oath of office and assume the duties of their office.
