SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. This item pertains to a municipal election agreement between the Broward Supervisor of Elections Office (BSOE) and the City of Pembroke Pines. Approval of this agreement is for the March 19, 2024 election only.
2. The Supervisor shall conduct the municipal election to be held by Municipality on the day of Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in accordance with the State of Florida Election Code and the Local Election Law, each as amended from time to time.
3. In Exhibit A to the agreement, the estimate of the municipality's total number of registered voters is 117,593. The estimated dollar amount of $82,320 is for the March 2024 election. An amended municipal election agreement would be provided to the Commission for approval on a separate date for a 2024 November ballot if the City has an election in November of 2024.
4. The Municipal Election Agreement comes before the City Commission for approval by the BSOE deadline of December 15, 2023.
