SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

 

SECTION 3.10  OATH REQUIRED. EVERY OFFICER OF THE CITY, WHETHER ELECTED OR APPOINTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHARTER, OR UNDER ANY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY, SHALL, BEFORE ASSUMING THE DUTIES OF HIS OFFICE, TAKE AND SUBSCRIBE, BEFORE SOME JUDICIAL OFFICER, DULY QUALIFIED ELECTED OFFICIAL OR NOTARY OF THIS STATE, THE FOLLOWING OATH:

 

“I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT, PROTECT, AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION AND GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES; THAT I AM DULY QUALIFIED TO HOLD OFFICE UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE; AND THAT I WILL WELL AND FAITHFULLY PERFORM THE DUTIES OF COMMISSIONER ON WHICH I AM NOW ABOUT TO ENTER.  SO HELP ME GOD.”
