PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 2025-R-20 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE PEMBROKE PINES/FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY CHARTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR THE CHARTER SCHOOL FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2025 IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,165,549; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-20 is a resolution adopting the budget for the Florida State University (FSU) Sponsored City of Pembroke Pines Charter Elementary School for the fiscal year July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 (See Exhibit 1. 2025-R-20 FSU Elementary Resolution).
2. On June 6, 2025, the FSU Elementary School Advisory Board unanimously approved with no recommendations the FY 2025-26 proposed balanced budget as presented to them by City Administration (See Exhibit 2. FSU Elementary June 2025 Meeting Summary).
3. The FSU Sponsored Charter Elementary School total budget is $11,165,549.
4. The cost of lease payments, maintenance, transportation, food service, personnel, capital and operating expenses are all covered by total revenues from federal/state grants, state-shared revenues, and other sources.
5. All State and local shared revenue projections are based on the House Education Bill, HB 5001 dated April 3, 2025, proposed during the 2025 House and Senate regular legislative session.
6. Recommend Commission adopt Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-20 approving the budget for the Pembroke Pines/ Florida State University Charter Elementary School in the amount of $11,165,549 for charter school fiscal year beginning July 1,2025.
