MOTION TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES AND THE BTU - BROWARD TEACHERS UNION FOR THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL YEARS 2025-26, 2026-27, AND 2027-28.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Covered Members - Full and Part Time Teachers/Instructional Staff (not including positions such as Principals, Assistant Principals, etc.).
2. Base Salary Merit Increase - Year One of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Grandfathered Teachers - $2,150.00 per year
Pay For Performance (Effective) - $2,016.00 per year
Pay For Performance (Highly Effective) - $2,688.00 per year
3. The CBA includes wage reopeners for years two and three.
4. Increase Minimum Salary To $53,500.00 per year
5. Increase Maximum Salary To $84.518.00 per year.
6. 2022 Referendum Payments (based on certified teaching experience)
Minimum (0 years - new hires) - $600.00 for the year
Maximum (25 years and above) - $15,050.00 for the year
7. 2018 Referendum Payments - no change from the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
8. Language Changes - some minor changes ”clean-up” to various other articles contained in the Agreement.
9. Ratification Vote Pending By BTU Members.
