1. The City of Pembroke Pines has been awarded a State EMS grant (#M2542) in the amount of $59,970.75 for the purchase of a LIFEPACK 35 monitor/defibrillator.
2. The LIFEPAK 35 represents a significant advancement in prehospital care, primarily designed for cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and other lifesaving interventions, especially to patients experiencing a cardiac arrest. As an innovative device designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of resuscitation efforts, the LIFEPAK 35 holds the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes and survival rates within our service area.
3. The City's matching portion for this grant is $19,990.25 (25%).
4. The agreement was delivered near the State of Florida’s June 30th fiscal year deadline, and due to the City Commission not meeting in July, it could not be submitted for approval in time.
5. Withdrawal of awarded funds will constitute the City's agreement with the terms of the grant as written.
