MOTION TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S PARTICIPATION IN THE CHILD EXPLOITATION AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE (CEHTTF) IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The purpose of this request is to allow participation by the Pembroke Pines Police Department in the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
2. The Task Force Officer (TFO) would work 30 hours of his/her regularly scheduled work week in the Pembroke Pines Police Department (PPPD) Special Victims Unit, and 10 hours of his/her regularly scheduled work week with the Task Force, subject to re-call at any time. Additionally, the TFO will take part in investigations related to the Task Force on the TFO's scheduled day(s) off. The overtime generated by this participation would be reimbursed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Our department will dictate the TFO's schedule, and the FBI will liaison to determine if the case should meet the criteria for Federal prosecution.
3. The Agreement has been reviewed and approved as to legal form by the Police Legal Advisor.
4. All administrative fees are fixed, and variable costs are paid from confiscated funds prior to distribution of net funds to the City.
5. Recommend approval of this agreement.
