MOTION TO ADOPT PROPOSED RESOLUTION 2024-R-23.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION 2024-R-23 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SIGNING AND SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND ASSURANCES TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (“FDOT”), AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE FDOT, AND THE PURCHASE OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT, AND EXPENDITURES OF GRANT FUNDS; DIRECTING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR

Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Due to the onset of the COVID pandemic in March of 2020, all production was halted for an undetermined amount of time, therefore no awards were granted for all applications for FFY 2021 and forward
2. On August 11, 2023, FDOT informed Southwest Focal Point via email, that all funding was reactivated and requested a new vehicle order to be submitted by August 18, 2023, due to the prices being affected due to the supply chain issues.
3. On May 4, 2024, FDOT forwarded a Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) draft for FFY2022 in the amount of $214,751.00.
4. Total funds are distributed as follows:
$171,800.00 Estimated 80% Federal Share
$21,475.00 Estimated 10% State Share
$21,476.00 Estimated 10% Local Share
$214,751.00 Total Award
5. The City's 10% contribution ($21,476) will be generated from a General Funds Transfer.
6. Requesting Commission approval to adopt the proposed Resolution 2024-R-23.
