Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Florida Power & Light Company (“FPL”) has requested two 10 foot wide easements from the City of Pembroke Pines(“City”) for the installation of underground power cables to replace overhead powerlines which provide electrical service to the water treatment plant and Fletcher Park and certain residential areas to the east of Fletcher Park.

2. FPL requires that a customer receiving underground electrical service that is replacing overhead power lines must provide FPL access and rights-of-way which in the opinion of FPL are necessary for the rendering of service to the customer.

3. The City has the authority to grant such rights, easements, permits and privileges and it is found that it is necessary for the protection of the City and the public for the City to grant FPL easements for the purposes mentioned above.

4. Request City Commission adopt Proposed Resolution No. 2025-R-16
