SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

The material terms of the Addendum are as follows for the 2023-2024 school year:

 

Base Salary Increases:          Grandfathered - $1,900.00/yr

                                               Pay for Performance (Highly Effective) - $2,375.00/yr

                                               Pay for Performance (Effective)  - $1,781.25/yr

New Hire Minimum Salary:    $49,000.00/yr

Maximum Salary:                   $80,036.00/yr

 

Ratification by the BTU is pending, but we need to provide the Plan to the BCSD by September 27, 2023.

 

No other changes to the current in-force Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and the BTU (Broward Teachers Union).

 

 

Financial Impact

FINANCIAL IMPACT DETAIL:

The total cost of the salary enhancements is $838,050 which will be funded by charter school revenues and by the State of Florida's Teacher Salary Increase Allocation “TSIA”.
