MOTION TO APPROVE THE 2025 CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES/SOUTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER TRANSPORTATION OPERATING PROCEDURES (TOP).
Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Since 2013, the City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center has been receiving 5310 funds from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to purchase vehicles and communication equipment. The City is considered an agency of FDOT, and as an agency it is a requirement to have an updated Transportation Operating Procedure (TOP) in place.
2. On December 16, 2020, with agenda item # 20-0852, the 2020 TOP was approved. The City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center Transportation Operating Procedures' Mission Statement is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services to the community via a coordinated system of senior transportation service, fixed route service and social service while keeping client expectation and changing needs as a high priority.
3. On January 18, 2023, with agenda item #22-0939, the 2023 TOP was approved. The City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center' Transportation Operating Procedures update reflected Accident Notification and Procedures, Drug and Alcohol Policy for CDL drivers that imposes a sanction or requires participation in a drug abuse program, revised testing requirement and notification of conviction to FDOT.
4. The current TOP has been revised to include departmental contacts, vehicle inventory, service agreement and the organizational chart. All other sections of the TOP remains the same.
5. Requesting Commission to approve the 2025 Transportation Operating Procedures (TOP) update.
