PROPOSED RESOLUTION 2018-R-36 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE 2016-2019 CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES COMMUNITY SHUTTLE OPERATIONS, TITLE VI PROGRAM PURSUANT TO FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS; DIRECTING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 

 

 

Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1.  The City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center adopted the 2013-2016 Federal Transit Administration Title VI on December 2, 2015 .  The City's 2016-19 FTA Title VI Program Guidelines have been reviewed and approved by the Florida Department of Transportation.

 

2.  The City of Pembroke Pines/Southest Focal Point Senior Center has an agreement with both the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County to provide Senior Transportation and fixed route transportation services.  The City also utilizes funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to assist in the operation of Senior Transportation and fixed route transportation services.

 

3.  The City as a sub-recipient of FTA funds is required to adopt  FTA Title VI Program Guidelines every three (3) years.

 

4.  Requesting Commission to approve submission of Title VI

 

Item has been reviewed by the Commission Auditor and approved for the Agenda.
