Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1.  On April 17, 2019, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of RE-19-01 "Conservation of Public Art Sculptures", which was advertised on April 23, 2019.

 

2.  The purpose of this solicitation was to conserve and repair existing sculptures at the 9/11 Memorial located at Memorial Park.

 

3.  On May 28, 2019, the City opened one (1) proposal from:

ABS General Contractors, Inc.

$54,540

 

4.  On June 6, 2019, the City convened an evaluation committee to evaluate the qualifications of the proposer(s) based on the weighted criteria provided for in the solicitation documents and listed below:

   

     - Experience and Ability (25%)

     - Previous Experience (25%)

     - Firm’s Understanding and Approach to the Work (20%)

     - Project Cost (25%)

     - Local Vendor Preference/Veteran Owned Small Business Preference (5%)

 

6.  After discussions regarding the vendor, the evaluation committee unanimously approved a motion to recommend the City Commission to award RE-19-01 “Conservation of Public Art Sculptures” to ABS General Contractors, Inc., and to direct the City Manager to enter into a contract for services.

 

7.  ABS General Contractors, Inc. has also completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the "Contractor will comply with the conditions of this section at the time of contract award."

 

8.  Request Commission to approve the findings and recommendation of the evaluation committee and to award RE-19-01 “Conservation of Public Art Sculptures” to ABS General Contractors, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $54,540, and to approve the negotiated agreement with ABS General Contractors, Inc.
