MOTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A GENIE Z 34/22 IC 4WD WITH JIB BOOM LIFT FROM KELLY TRACTOR, CO. IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $49,995 FOR THE UTILITIES DIVISION UTILIZING THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION’S CONTRACT (FSA-18-VEH16.0, SPECIFICATION #72) PURSUANT SECTION 35.18(C)(5) OF THE CITY’S CODE OF ORDINANCE.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Utilities Division fiscal year 2018-2019 budget includes funding for the purchase of a new boom lift to help with the ability to access hard to reach areas.
2. The Utilities Division is requesting to purchase the new Genie Z-34-22 IC 4WD with JiB Boom Lift utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association’s Contract FSA-18-VEH16.0, Specification #72.
3. Section 35.18(C)(5) of the City’s Procurement Procedures states; “Utilization of other governmental agencies’ contracts. Commodities or services that are subject of contracts with the state its political subdivisions or other governmental entities including the United States government, are exempt from this section, provided, however, that this division shall apply only if the contract expressly permits or if the awarding jurisdiction and/or vendor agree to allow the city to purchase therefrom.”
4. The Genie Z-34-22 IC 4WD with Jib Boom Lift has a maximum working height of 40 feet 10 inches and will be utilized for projects at the City Water Treatment Plant such as maintenance on the water storage tanks, silos and piping. The Genie Z-34-22 IC 4WD with JiB Boom Lift provides the ability to lift up, over and out with precise positioning in hard to access areas.
5. Kelly Tractor Co. has provided a quote for the Genie Z-34-22 IC 4WD with JiB Boom Lift at a total cost of $49,995. The quote is $102,325 list price, plus an addition of $535 for a LPG Tank, 33.5 lb. Capacity, which totals $102,860. The price includes a 20% discount off, along with an additional discount of $32,293. The net price is $49,995. ...
