SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The School Resource Officer Agreement between the City and Somerset Academy calls for the City to assign a Police Officer as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at the Somerset Academy Pines Boulevard Campus (19620 Pines Blvd) and at the Somerset Academy Johnson Street Campus (20801 Johnson Street). Somerset Academy agrees to pay the City the sum of $153,936 for the services provided by the two (2) Officers.
2. The term of the agreement is from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
3. The City will receive $153,936 and this revenue will be credited to account #1-342120-3001-303; School Resource Officer (SRO).
4. The estimated expenditure for two School Resource Officers is as follows:
Full cost of one (1) officer = $76,968
Full cost of two (2) officers = $153,936
Revenue for two (2) SRO officers from Somerset = $153,936
Net = $0
5. The agreement has been reviewed and approved as to legal form by the Police Legal Advisor.
6. Request Commission approval on School Resource Officer agreement between the City and Somerset Academy.
