MOTION TO AWARD PSUT-19-04 "METAL OVERHANG FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT BCR BUILDING" TO THE MOST RESPONSIVE/RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, TREVID GROUP LLC, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $161,228.40, WHICH INCLUDES A 10% OWNER’S CONTINGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $14,268 AND A 3% PERMIT ALLOWANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,280.40.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On June 19, 2019, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of PSUT-19-04 "Metal Overhang for Wastewater Treatment Plant BCR Building", which was advertised on June 25, 2019.
2. The purpose of this solicitation was to contract with a qualified firm to construct a metal overhang at the WWTP BCR Building. Such overhang is necessary for the proper handling of the solids discharge, protecting the material from the elements as they are loaded into the transportation vehicle for final destination.
3. On July 23, 2019, the City opened two (2) bids from the following vendors:

4. The Public Services Department has reviewed the proposals and has deemed Trevid Group LLC to be the most responsive/responsible bidder.
5. In addition, Trevid Group LLC has also completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the "Contractor currently complies with the requirements of this section."
6. The Public Services Department would like to add a 10% owner’s contingency to the project to cover any additional services needed along with a 3% permit allowance which will increase the total cost from $142,680 to $161,228.40.
