SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On April 17, 2019, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of PSPW-19-05 “A/C Replacement at Studio 18 and Chartwells Kitchen”, which was advertised on April 23, 2019.
2. The purpose of this solicitation was to replace the air conditioning units at both Studio 18 and the Chartwells Kitchen, which have both reached the ends of their useful lives.
3. On May 14, 2019, the City opened two (2) proposals from the following vendors:

4. At the time that an estimate was received for the budgeting of both projects, it was based on only replacing the A/C units. After the project moved forward, the mechanical engineer brought other issues to the Public Service Department’s attention that would have to be addressed in order to complete both projects. As a result of the necessary additional requirements for the projects, the Public Services Department has decided to use the budgeted amount to complete only the Chartwells A/C replacement, and postpone the A/C replacement of Studio 18.
5. The Public Services Department has reviewed the proposals and has deemed Blizzard Air Conditioning LLC to be the most responsive/responsible bidder for the replacement of the Chartwells Kitchen.
