PROPOSED RESOLUTION 2019-R-46 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ESTABLISH A VETERANS PARKING PREFERENCE PROGRAM AT CITY PARKING LOTS AND CITY OWNED FACILITIES THAT ARE GENERALLY OPENED TO THE PUBLIC; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1. The City Commission, at the October 2, 2019 meeting voted to establish a Veterans' parking preference program at City Parking Lots and City owned facilities that are opened to the public.

 

2. The proposed resolution authorizes the City Manager, or his designee to create a Veterans' preferential parking program.

 

3. The proposed resolution also  authorizes the City Manager, or his designee to draft an ordinance for presentation to the City Commission for  implementation of the program.

 

4. Administration recommends adopting Proposed Resolution 2019-R-46.
