MOTION TO ADOPT PROPOSED RESOLUTION NUMBER 2020-R-07.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION NUMBER 2020-R-07 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES APPROVING THE HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES AND THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A” AND INCORPORATED HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR MOBILITY IMPROVEMENTS ON 72ND AVE; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO) AND FDOT; AUTHORIZNG THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The City of Pembroke Pines has jurisdiction over 72nd Avenue from Pembroke Road to NW 2nd Street.
2. The MPO through the FDOT will construct bicycle lanes from Pembroke Rd to Johnson St.
3. In addition, they will be adding sidewalks, where they are missing, and minor drainage improvements.
4. After construction they require the City to maintain the improvements within our right-of-way (ROW).
5. Prior to construction, they require the City to execute this Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
6. Hollywood will also be agreeing to maintain the area within their ROW north of Pines Blvd. This includes the eastern half of NW 72nd Ave from Pines Blvd to Polk St. and all of NW 72nd from Polk St. to Johnson St.
