Summary Explanation and Background

 

1. The City is a recipient of HUD Home Investment Partnership (HOME) program funding as a member of the Broward County HOME Consortium. The City receives an annual allocation of federal HOME funding to address priority housing needs.

 

2. The proposed second amendment to the City's FY 2018-2019 provides for a time extension necessary to close out home repair projects allocated to that program year and obtain reimbursement from the County.  The proposed first amendment under consideration this evening will extend the program to July 31, 2021.

 

3. Broward County requires the City to amend the HOME agreement in order to permit the time extension. 

 

4. The City Commission approved the original HOME 2018-2019 agreement at its June 5, 2019 meeting via Resolution 3648.

 

5. No changes to the previously approved budget or scope of work are being proposed as part of this amendment.

6. Administration recommends approving proposed resolution 2020-R-23.
