SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Department of Homeland Security approved the City of Pembroke Pines application for the Fiscal Year 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Grant funding opportunity in the amount of $70,919.07.
2. The City is required to contribute non-Federal funds equal to or greater than 10% of the Federal funds awarded, or $7,091.91, for a total approved budget of $78,010.98.
3. The purpose of the AFG program is to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire-related hazards.
