SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On June 19, 2019 with Agenda #19-0682. The City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center approved Contract SWFPJA120-10-2020 with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County to provide services under the Older Americans Act (OAA) Titles IIIB and IIIE for the period of January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
2. The submission of this application represents continuation of services for the period of January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 in the amount of $462,059. Funds are distributed as follows: $329,464 represents Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) Title IIIB Funds. Local Matching Funds from Areawide on Aging (AAA) for Title IIIB in the amount of $43,867, and $88,729 represents Federal Funds Act (OAA) for Title IIIE. The City will contribute a total of $95,284 In-Kind.
2. The purpose of the application is to continue services to our senior population 60 years of age and older living in Southwest Sector of Broward County. Among the services offered to our senior population are: Adult Day Care, Counseling Individual, Counseling Group, In-Home Services (Homemaker, Personal Care & Respite), Public Education and Recreation.
3. Requesting Commission approval for the submission of the 2021 application.
