Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1.  The current contract JP119-10-2020 was approved a the Commission Meeting of September 18, 2019 with Agenda Item 19-1099, for the period of October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.  The new contract JP219-10-2021 represents continuation of the EHEAP Services to our senior clientele.

2.  The EHEAP Contract provides home energy assistance aid to elders in the event of a home energy heating or cooling emergency.  It is designated to assist low-income households with at least one member aged 60 or older experiencing a heating or cooling emergency.  Eligible household may received one crisis assistance benefit up to a maximum of $600.00 in the cooling and one crisis in the assistance benefit in the heating season.

3.  The fund received under the EHEAP  Contract JP219-10-2021 for a total amount of $25,338.54 are distributed as follows:

4.  Contract request received October 14, 2020, please refer to attachment #2.  File 20-0697 created on October 14, 2020, and started approval processed but, it missed the October 21, 2020 Commission Meeting.  Agenda date was change to the next Commission Meeting of November 4, 2020

5.  Requesting Commission approval to continue the EHEAP Services.
