IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,729,979.54, WHICH INCLUDES A 10% OWNER’S CONTINGENCY OF $157,270.87 AND A 2.5% COST TO PROVIDE A PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,358.75.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On October 21, 2020, the City Commission authorized the advertisement of IFB # PSPW-20-14 “Roof Replacements for Various School Buildings” which was advertised on October 27, 2020.
2. The purpose of this solicitation was to replace the roofs of various city charter school buildings.
3. On December 8, 2020 the City opened six (6) proposals and one (1) partial bid proposal from the following vendors:

4. The Public Services Department has reviewed the proposals and has deemed Paul Bange Roofing Inc. to be the most responsive/responsible bidder.
5. In addition, Paul Bange Roofing Inc. has also completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the contractor currently complies with the requirements of this section.
6. The Public Services Department would like to add a 10% owner’s contingency to the project to cover any additional services needed along with a 2.5% cost to provide a payment and performance bond which will increase the total cost from $1,534,349.92 to $1,729,979.54.
