MOTION TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE AGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION’S FLORIDA MEDICAID PROGRAM TO CONTINUE AMBULANCE TRANSPORT BILLING FOR MEDICAID RECIPIENTS.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Per Sections 1902(a) and 1932(d) of the Social Security Act, each provider furnishing items or services to, or ordering, prescribing, referring, or certifying eligibility for services for individuals eligible to receive assistance under Florida Medicaid state plan, a waiver to the plan, or as an enrollee in a managed care health plan, must enroll, and to periodically renew, the enrollment with the Agency for Health Care Administration.
2. The Agency for Health Care Administration provides payments for medical assistance and related services rendered to Florida’s Medicaid recipients only to an entity who has a provider agreement in effect with the agency.
3. The current agreement expires March 6, 2021. The term of this agreement shall be in effect for a period of five (5) years, commencing on March 7, 2021 and terminating on March 6, 2026.
4. The Fire Department requests Commission approval to renew this agreement.
