MOTION TO APPROVE THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE 2020-2021 VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) GRANT AGREEMENT

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, previously awarded the City Police Department $14,050.00 via the 2020-2021 VOCA Grant to continue funding the part-time Assistant Victim Advocate, as a continuation of the 2019-2020 VOCA program.
2. This is an amendment provided by the Office of the Attorney General to increase the award amount by $8,117.00, to be utilized in funding personnel hours for the part-time Assistant Victim Advocate. The amended 2020-2021 VOCA Grant budget will be $22,167.00.
3. There is no required cash match funding, the required 20% match will continue to be met through in-kind donation of volunteer service hours contributed by the Victim Services Unit.
4. The funding cycle and 2020-2021 VOCA Grant will end on September 30, 2021.
