MOTION TO APPROVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE 2020-2021 VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) GRANT AGREEMENT.
Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, previously awarded the City Police Department $14,050.00 via the 2020-2021 VOCA Grant to continue funding the part-time Assistant Victim Advocate, as a continuation of the 2019-2020 VOCA program.
2. The Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, then provided a first amendment to the 2020-2021 VOCA Grant which increased the original award by $8,117.00; amending the 2020-2021 VOCA Grant budget to be $22,167.00. This first amendment was approved by City Commission on February 17, 2021, and the increase was to be utilized for funding personnel hours for the part-time Assistant Victim Advocate.
3. The Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, now provides a second amendment to the 2020-2021 VOCA Grant which will increase the award by an additional $11,259.00, to be utilized for COVID related expenses. The amended 2020-2021 VOCA Grant budget will be $33,426.00.
4. There is no required cash match funding, and the 20% match requirement for the additional funds allocated under this second amendment has been waived.
5. The funding cycle and 2020-2021 VOCA Grant will end on September 30, 2021.
