SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The playground at Tanglewood Park was installed in 1998. The playground has been regularly maintained but is no longer serviceable due to age. The playground must be updated to ensure its function as safe play space for the community.
2. On January 25, 2017, the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, as lead agency for the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance issued RFP # 269-2017-028 for "Playground Equipment, Outdoor Fitness Equipment, Site Accessories, Surfacing, and Related Products." GameTime was awarded the agreement for a five year period beginning on May 3, 2017.
3. The proposed playground for Tanglewood Park as designed by GameTime includes the following elements:
- Bongos
- Wavy Tree
- River Rock Climber
- Drivers Panel
- Bubble Panel
- Swerve Slide
- Swerve, Wave and Straight Zip Slides
- Crawl Tube
- Swing set with belt package and tot seats
GameTime will provide for the removal and disposal of poured rubber, sand and existing playground equipment as well as the installation of a new ADA compliant engineered wood fiber surface.
