SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On March 4,2020, the City Commission approved the award of IFB # PSPW-19-15 "Rebid of Roof Replacements at Various City Buildings” to David Bange Roofing in the total amount not to exceed of $1,079,566.69.
2. At the time of award, the Public Services Department reviewed the costs for all the sites and determined that the City would not be moving forward with the replacement of the roof at the Bright Beginnings Preschool, as the future use of the building was uncertain at that time. However, it has been determined that the Arts & Cultural Division of the Recreation & Cultural Arts Department will be moving from the Fletcher Park Building to the Bright Beginnings Preschool building, in order to provide additional room at the Fletcher Park Building for the Utilities Division. The Arts & Cultural Division will provide music and art classes along with similar type programs at this site.
3. David Bange Roofing has agreed to hold to the pricing from their original bid submittal.
4. David Bange Roofing has also completed the Equal Benefits Certification Form and has stated that the "Contractor currently complies with the requirements of this section."
5. The Public Services Department would like to add an owner’s contingency to the project to cover any additional services needed which will increase the total cost from $121,750 to $133,925.
6. Request Commission to award the replacement of the Bright Beginnings Preschool roof as outlined in IFB # PSPW-19-15 "Rebid of Roof Replacements at Various City Buildings” to David Bange Roofing, in the total amount not to exceed $133,925, which includes a 10% owner’s contingency in the amount of $12,175.
