Summary Explanation and Background

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The City of Pembroke Pines supports roadway mobility improvements along Dykes Road, NW 196th Avenue, and NW 10th Street at NW 129th Avenue, by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

2. The City recognizes the importance of collaboration planning efforts to help address current and future transportation demands throughout the county and therefore supports the capital project in conjunction with the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO).

3. The FDOT has undertaken and obtained Federal participation for the project, and the City will be responsible for additional project costs determined to be Federal Aid Non-Participating.

4. The City agrees to have FDOT construct certain improvements, such as, milling, resurfacing, widening and re-striping Dykes Road and on NW 196th Street, to provide two (2) 11-ft lanes and 6-ft bike lanes in both directions and to install Flashing Beacons at the NW 10th Street and NW 129th Avenue intersection.

5. After construction is complete, the City agrees to maintain the improvements.

6. Prior to construction, the City is required to execute this Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
