MOTION TO APPROVE SUBMISSION OF THE 2022 APPLICATION TO AREAWIDE COUNCIL ON AGING OF BROWARD COUNTY, INC. FOR THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR TITLE IIIB AND IIIE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF JANUARY 1, 2022 TO DECEMBER 31, 2022 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $462,059.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. On September 22, 2020 with Agenda 20-0697 the City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center submitted the 2021 Application. This application was awarded with Agreement SWFPJA121-10-2021 on November, 20, 2020. The current agreement will expire December 31, 2021.
2. The submission of the 2022 Application represents continuation of services for the period of January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 in the amount of $462,059. Funds are distributed as follows: $329,464 represents Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) Title IIIB Funds. Local Matching Funds from Areawide on Aging (AAA) for Title IIIB in the amount of $43,867, and $88,729 represents Federal Funds Act (OAA) for Title IIIE. The City will contribute a total of $95,285 In-Kind.
3. The purpose of the application is to continue services to our senior population 60 years of age and older living in the Southwest Sector of Broward County. Among the services offered to our senior population are: Adult Day Care, Counseling Individual, Counseling Group, In-Home Services (Homemaker, Personal Care & Respite), Public Education and Recreation.
4. Requesting Commission approval for the submission of the 2022 application.
