SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, has awarded the City $33,426.00 for FY2022 to continue funding the Police Department’s part-time Assistant Victim Advocate. This is a continuation of the 2020-2021 VOCA program. The State has also provided additional funding for Covid related operating expenses and training.
2. The City will expend a maximum of $34,769 in costs (personnel, training, operating) for the VOCA project, of which the grant will reimburse a maximum of $33,426. Leaving a non-grant funded portion of $1,343.

3. While the VOCA grant traditionally requires a 20% match-for the FY22 VOCA Grant year-the State has issued a full match waiver for all grant recipients due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. No match is required for this project for this grant year.
4. This funding cycle will be retroactive to and commence on October 1st, 2021 and end on September 30th, 2022. The agreement has been approved as to form by the city attorney’s office.
