MOTION TO APPROVE THE 2023 CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES/SOUTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER TRANSPORTATION OPERATING PROCEDURES (TOP).
Summary Explanation and Background
SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. Since 2013 the City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center has been receiving 5310 Funds from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to purchase vehicles and communication equipment. The City is considered and an agency of FDOT, as an agency it is a requirement to have a Transportation Operating Procedure (TOP) in place.
2. On December 16, 2020 with Agenda Item #20-0852 the 2020 Transportation Operating Procedures was approved. The City of Pembroke Pines/Southwest Focal Point Senior Center Transportation Operating Procedures' Mission Statement is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services to the community via a coordinated system of senior transportation service, fixed route service and social service while keeping client expectation and changing needs as a high priority.
3. The current Transportation Operating Procedures has been updated to reflect Accident Notification and Procedures, Drug and Alcohol Policy for CDL drivers that imposes a sanction or requires participation in a drug abuse program, revised testing requirement and notification of conviction to FDOT.
4. Requesting Commission to approve revised 2023 Transportation Operating Procedures.
