SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:
1. The Public Services Department is requesting to purchase a JLG 450AJ Articulating Boom Lift from Kelly Tractor Co. utilizing pricing established by the Florida Sheriffs Association’s (FSA) contract # FSA20-EQU18.0, Heavy Equipment.
2. The JLG 450AJ Articulating Boom Lift is a new piece of equipment which will be utilized for various projects with the ability to deliver the needed manpower, tools, and materials that are necessary to work on a multitude of facilities that require high and/or an offset reach such as parking lot light poles, water and sewer plant facilities, school buildings, and other City buildings.
3. The Procurement Department contacted the primary vendor listed on the FSA contract for self propelled scissor lifts, Southern States ToyotaLift, but they were not able to provide a quote, due to their estimated lead time of 18 months.
4. The Procurement Department contacted the alternate vendor, Kelly Tractor Co., who provided a quote for the JLG 450AJ Articulating Boom at a total cost of $104,495, and provided an estimated lead time of 14 months.
