Summary Explanation and Background

 

SUMMARY EXPLANATION AND BACKGROUND:

1. This item pertains to a Special Municipal Election agreement between the Broward Supervisor of Elections Office (BSOE) and the City of Pembroke Pines. Approval of this agreement is for the November 5, 2024, special election only.

 

2. The Supervisor shall conduct the municipal election to be held by Municipality on the day of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in accordance with the State of Florida Election Code and the Local Election Law, each as amended from time to time.

 

3.  On page 11 of the agreement, the estimate of the municipality's total number of registered voters is 28,379 (District 4).  The estimated dollar amount of $19, 870 is for the November 5, 2024, special election.

 

4. The Municipal Election Agreement comes before the City Commission for approval by the BSOE deadline of May 15, 2024.
